Time to put up the crib!!!

This past weekend, we finally got moved form Irving back to Dallas. Man, I'm glad that's over. We woke up at 7am with the expectation that the movers would be knocking on our door at 8 o'clock. Well, guess what? They didn't show up until 10. I'm panicking, calling every number I had in my phone to contact the moving company to ask them where there guys were. Guess what else?... The office is closed on the weekend. So if their guys make a mistake and don't show up to move our stuff, what are we supposed to do. So I just figured that they thought that we were supposed to move on their next pickup around 12.

Anyway, around 9:30, my cellphone rings and they tell me that our address was too new and it couldn't be found using their GPS. Hmmm, sounds like a lie to me. Why didn't they call me at 7:30 am like they said they would. I could have easily given them directions.

Oh well, I'm calling them tomorrow, because I think I deserve a discount on my move.

Moving right along..... Now that we are moved, it gave us the perfect opportunity to pick up Misses Jones' crib from Babies R' Us.

I believe that it's every expectant father's privilege to build their baby's crib. From what I hear, this can be a daunting task or pure enjoyment.

First of all, let me tell you that the box was huge and we had the toughest time getting it into my brother's Scion. After we finally got it home we let it sit for a day before we..no, I put it together. And to my surprise, there was no instruction manual... Or at least I didn't find one until I was done putting the thing together. Here are some pics of the building process:

Yes, there are many baby parts inside!!

Headboard

Cardboard all over the place

Happy to be half-way finished

Almost done!!

What's funny about this picture is, I thought I was done. See the black bedrails inside the frame of the bed. I thought the mattress was supposed to sit right on top of them. Then my lovely wife began to question my intelligence.
Mrs. Jones: "Sen, something is supposed to go in there for the mattress to lay on top of."
Seneca: "No, there isn't! The mattress sits on top of the bed rails, just like our bed does".
Mrs. Jones: " Whatever, something's missing. Did you get everything out of the box"
Seneca: "Of course I did,"
See the next picture!!!
Apparently, there was something else in the box
And, it had the instruction manual attached to it.
Us men think we're so smart, don't we!

Mattress Added
We'll add the bedding later.
