My Favorite Things #1: The Color Purple

Moving forward, I will share with you some of my most favorite things. Things that are embedded in my memories forever. Things that make me laugh till my ribs hurt. Things that make me cry (Only happens once every couple of years). Things that I'm very passionate about. So from time to time I'll post about my favorite things.

Here's installment #1: The Color Purple

This is one of my favorite all-time movies. I was 7 years old the first time I was Whoopie Goldberg as Mrs. Ceily. Almost any African-American over the age of 25 years old can probably remember the first time that we met, Mrs. Ceily, Mista, Harpo (Which is Oprah spelled backwards), Sophia, Sug Avery, Mrs. Millie, Nettie and that girl in the choir that Sug outsung from a mile up the road from the church. Oh yeah, I also forgot OH....livia. :o)

This is my 2nd most favorite scene from the movie. The dining room scene. You get a mixed bowl of emotions from this scene as Mrs. Ceily finally finds liberation from Mistah. Colorful language is used. Please watch with caution. I'll post my most favorite scene tomorrow. Enjoy:
