What's In A Name?

I have a major problem!!!

Lyndon B. Johnson Freeway

C.F. Hawn

Central Expressway

R.L. Thornton Freeway

John W. Carpenter Freeway

These names mean absolutely nothing to me. I have no idea what people are referring to when they give me directions to anywhere in the city and they reference these names. They'll say that, "such and such is just south of LBJ Freeeway on such and such street".

WHAT?

People, I need numbers.

Heck, most road signs don't have the name of the highway when you are getting ready to exit. I'm tired of being confused. Please tell me, what is Old 75. Is there a sign for it. Will my naviation system tell me when I am about to approach "Old 75". Gheesh!!!
