1st Game at Cowboys Stadium: Part 2

Let me start off by saying that Erick and I had a blast at the game. The game started at 7. We left my apartment at about 4:45pm. Amazingly, it only took us about 40 minutes to get to the stadium...if that long. Traffic wasn't that bad really. Nothing worse that I would have expected. My only worry was if we got there in time to get some of the cheaper parking spaces. And guess what. We only paid $30 for parking. Not bad.

Now you may be wondering how far away. I would estimate at least a mile away from the stadium. Honeslty, it doesn't seem that bad because the stadium is soo big. So, your perception of how far away the stadium is gets skewed big time. The only thing that beats you down is the Texas heat. Unfortunately, no more than 5 minutes into our walk, a guy walking away from the stadium tells me that I won't be allowed to bring my camera into the stadium if it has a detachable lens. I was like really? I didn't see that as one of the prohibited items on the website. I specifically looked for this because you can't have a dslr camera at the AA center.

Needless to say, I didn't get to take anymore pictures. BUMMER. Next thing I know, I see a bunch of people with these "restricted" cameras. So I need to make a call to Owner Jones and ask him with the deal is with the cameras....For Real.

So we get in and are wowed at the electricity in the building. I got the see first hand what the Party Pass was about. It's basically just standing room only tickets where anybody can post up and watch the game on the big screens or at these long bar tables right behind some of the seats.

Instantly we notice the Titans kickers trying to kick punts into big screen. Just to let you know, you have to kick the ball with some real intent to kick them into scoreboard. Ridiculous.

Anyway, We made our way to our seats and believe me, we were WAAAAY up there...lol. But with the big screen, you don't miss too much, Of course if you want to see some of the more fine details of the game, you're better off looking at the players on the field. The good thing is the scoreboard doesn't obstruct you view of the field at all.

We made our way around the stadium just checking it out. We paid $8.50 for a cheeseburger and $6.00 for a soft drink. Could have been worse I guess. There is no difference in price for a hamburger or cheeseburger. Other items on the menu included hot dogs, popcorn, fajitas, pretzels, pulled pork sandwiches. yada, yada, yada. The most expensive single item that I saw was $14.00 for a ........Cowboyrita.... Very cheesy... lol

The Introductions were very unique. The big screen basically takes you on the field with the players and the... ahem. cheerleaders. Men of God, you may want to shield your eyes during the performances... :o). The coolest thing that I saw at the game was how they split the screen into 4 quadrants and do replays to show you four different views of the play. Very Nice. Very Nice.

Overall, the game was extremely enjoyable and I can't wait till Nov. 1 for the Seattle game. The first team did their thing and so did the backups. Plus I got to see my new favorite player in action doing his thing.....Mr. Felix Jones.

Hope you get a chance to go. If you don't mind standing for 3+ hours, get a Party Pass and have a good time.

Here's a video that I found on YouTube from this guys who went the other night.
