Hooray!! 200 Posts

We were on our way home today with the radio on 105.3 where they play a lot of light rock. Then a commercial comes on and to my surprise, I find out that Air Supply and Christopher Cross will be performing at the Meyerson Symphony Center with the Dallas Symphony Orchestra. I think to myself, "Whoa, this is huge!". So I wait with angst to find out what the date will be for the concert and to my dismay, I it's on August 24th. There is no way I'm going to be able to go. Other than that, I have no idea who would be willing to suffer whole night of late 70's soft rock while I thoroughly enjoyed myself. So alas, I my just have to catch it on YouTube. Then again I seriously doubt that anybody would be so classless to record a concert at the symphony with their cellphone. I'm sure these two acts will never perform together again.

It's funny that this is my 200th post. I've been anticipating it for a while wondering what I would talk about. Fortunately, the everything just kind of fell into place. See, I've always loved old school soft rock. I remember back in the day when I was a teenager staying up late at night and those Time Life music commercials would come on. Wait a minute, I bet I can find one on YouTube right now. Yep I found one. Check it out.

And then, I was hooked. I never purchased any of the albums, but those songs were embedded in my memory. Then last year I found out about Pandora.com and typed in Kenny Loggins. Of course those of you who are family with Pandora know that the site will automatically create a playlist based on the type of music the artist you chose. And then I started hearing all of these songs from the Time Life commercials. I was like, "Oh, snap!!".

Needless to say, I really don't know anyone my age who has the same affinity that I have for soft rock. It's probably because they are too young to know any of the stuff or I'm just too square.

So, I'm disappointed that I won't be able to go to the concert. Besides I don't know anybody else who'd be willing to go with me. Instead, I'll share these beautiful memories with you all. Here's to 200 posts. Maybe I have too much time on my hands.
