Happy 1st Birthday Madison! I Remember!

Today is Madison's first birthday. Unbeknown to her, we have been anticipating this day everyday for the last month. Therefore, how can I not reminisce about everything that has gone on in the last 365 days.
  • I remember the labor that Tess was in all day long and yet feeling so calm about meeting our new little girl.

  • I remember seeing Madison for the first time and thinking about how fair-skinned this kid was.

  • I remember saying to myself that she was going to have my egg-head.

  • I remember being at the hospital for only 2 days, but it felt like 4.

  • I remember walking into our home with Madison for the first time.

  • I remember thinking that this kid looks just like an alien.

  • I remember the smiles on every one's faces who came to visit her for the first time.

  • I remember how she struggled to get down those 2 ounce bottles that you get from the hospital

  • I remember swaddling her every time she went to sleep.

  • I remember how she burped like a groan woman without having to be burped.

  • I remember the first time I saw here smile.

  • I remember the time I bathed her and she pooped in the tub.... (Just for the record, she never did that to me again and I praise God everyday for it.)

  • I remember the first time I saw her flip over by herself.

  • I remember the first time she slept through the night (8 straight hours)

  • I remember Madison's first hairstyle

  • I remember how easy it was to make her laugh.

  • I remember her very first cold.

  • I remember the time we rushed her to Emergency because milk came out of her nose and she couldn't breath.

  • I remember the way the nurse looked at us when we explained why we rushed her in..... (They must be new parents)

  • I remember when she started standing on her own.

  • I remember that her first word was "No". (Isn't that all babies first word?)

  • I remember the first time we took her to the Dr.

  • I remember that she would smile at a brick if you introduced her to one.

  • I remember her scooting from one side of the room to the other.

  • I remember her crawling from one side of the room to the other.

  • And finally I remember the first time I saw her take steps all by herself.
We have soooo many memories and I wouldn't dare attempt to share them all here. But to help illustrate those memories I've gone a step further to share some of those memories with you. So without further or do, here is the highly anticipated video montage chronicling Miss Madison's first year.

I now present to you....... The Video:

P.S. Family Members: If you would like a copy of the montage for yourself, please let me know and I'll make you a copy.
