This past Sunday I went to my old church for a reunion of all of the people I spent most of my teenage years with. It brought back all sorts of memories of when I first accepted Christ into my life during a ver critical time in my life. The teenage years. I have vivid memories of being baptized and all of the friends that I made along with the handful of adults that influenced me and helped shape who I've become today. It's amazing, but it seems like I went to NMMMBC forever, but I was only there for about 5 short years. It has been more than 10 years since I stepped foot into this place of worship. For a couple of hours, it felt like old times with SO MANY familiar faces popping up. Whether near or far, I believe that all of us will forever be connected to each other. I'm sure that as we all cruise into or ease upon our 30's, we are thankful for being an integral part of each other's lives. There's nothing like reconnecting with childhood friends, hearing about where they've been, where they are going and the extension of themselves through their children. I have to admit that it's crazy to hear their children call them mama or daddy. Wasn't it just yesterday that we were still children ourselves.
Oh well, I had a great time. It would be nice to see everybody from time to time. I pray that each of us would continue to live life to the fullest. Continue to serve God with all of our hearts and do the best that we can to be obedient to His Holy Spirit.
Thank you Father for the many lessons you taught me here. Thank you for the adults who took the time to cultivate your Word within us. Thank you for the lifelong relationships that many of us keep. Amen!
