Last Day Before Surgery

So my surgery is finally going to happen on Monday to remove this tumor from my back. I'm so ready to get this thing out of me and get rid of this numbness in my leg. All I know is that whomever inserts the needle for my IV better get it right the first time or somebody might just get popped!!!

Tonight, I'm eating my last meal. Tomorrow I will be subjected to a rigorous regimen of laxatives to clean out my system. No solid foods. Here's a look at my schedule for tomorrow.

  1. Wake up at 7AM to begin drinking my first round of Laxative and Electrolyte solution. 8 oz.
  2. Continue with the 8 oz thing every 15 minutes until all 4 Liters of the solution is consumed. Yikes!!! That's about 17 cups of liquid. Check out my "Brown Bag Special" below.
  3. Then I have to take 4 pills at 1PM, 2PM and 11PM. These are antibiotics to kill any unwanted bacteria in my intestines. Yes they are removing a tumor, but it's kinda close to my colon. If for any reason the tumor has moved into the area where my colon exists, they want to make sure it's squeaky clean.

I took my new back brace for a spin. It took me a couple of times to put the thing on right. I was told that immediately after my surgery, the doctors would strap that thing on.

Please continue for us. We understand that this is just bump in the road of life and God is in control of every situation. At the same time, it's times like this that really let you know how in control of everything we are NOT. I'm sure it will be a couple of weeks before I post again, but I look forward to blogging about how everything is going and how crazy I've driven my wife with my moans, groans and complaints...lol Where is my bell again?

So tomorrow, my gut will be in overdrive on the junk food holiday of the year. Superbowl Sunday. I could care less about who wins, but I'm looking forward to commercials as usual. Not really looking forward to the halftime show though. Never really been a fan of "The Who", but I'm sure they're great in their own right. If I don't get a chance to blog tomorrow, see you guys later. Check out my wife's blog for any updates til then.

I've not blogged in so long until I don't even know where to start ! We are praying for a solid, smooth completion back to your road of good health.

How can you not like The Who ? They are pretty cool, but I'm not a huge fan of Rock-N-Roll...it's okay. I have a half day of training on Tuesday & a FULL day on Wednesday in Las Colinas, but I will be over to see you at some point.

I can't imagine what all you pigged out on yesterday, but you will make up for it today (smile). I have a feeling that it's gonna be a crazy week & I hope this rain in the forecast does NOT interfere with the activities of the week, at the Jones families have a LOT going on.

Love ya !
