Today is the Fourth of July eve and I'm reminded of how grateful I am to live in this country and how much I enjoy the freedom that so many American soldiers both past and present have fought for. I appreciate their braveness. I am thankful that I live in a country where communism isn't practiced and we all have a right to worship freely what or whomever we choose.
While I also celebrate our country's freedom, I'm reminded of the freedom that Christ has given me and the peace of mind that I have because of it. Where he Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom.
I pray that we can continue to walk in that freedom which allows me to love and experience love. The freedom to forgive myself when my imperfections poke through as well as forgive others when I make the mistake of placing unrealistic expectations on them.
I pray that we never lose that child-like part of ourselves that helps us not to take life too seriously.
I pray that I continue to be a man who's not afraid to show affection to those that I love.
And I also pray that we can rejoice and dance when others do well and accomplish things that are important to them.
I pray that we do everything that we can to maintain and not forfeit our freedom by being obedient to your Word. I pray that we are humble. I pray that we appropriately put others before ourselves. I pray that we treat everybody the same....that we don't put healthy people ahead of those who are sick. I pray that we do all that we can to be genuine.
In the freeing name of Jesus,
Amen
