Trip To Washington D.C.

Last week I had to attend a conference in Washington D.C. Tess and Madison decided to tag along to hang out with me and make a mini vacation out of it. So we took to the friendly skies.

Unfortunately, before we took off our little Misses Jones was battling a fever. We were hoping to have kicked it in the bud before the trip, but no such luck. You'll see from the pictures below that she basically slept for most of the time.

Here we are right before take-off.

Once we finally got off the plane, we were famished. So I decided to take Tess to a Mexican restaurant named Lauriol Plaza that my Uncle and his wife took me too the last time I flew into this area. It took us about an hour to there because we ended up in Virginia because the darn GPS unit gave me the wrong directions. Once we got into DC, we found out just how confusing and congested the city truly was.

We were amazed at how on top of each other everyone lived. I mean, look at how everyone is parked on the streets. Check out the Honda CRV on the left side of the photo. If this person had to leave how would the get out of the space their parked in? This was at 3pm in the afternoon. Crazy!

The next day during lunch, we went to this chain in Arlington, VA near the hotel where the conference was named Johnny Rockets. It was diner type food, but a little too commercial for my liking. Nevertheless, it was a pretty cool experience. Guess who's sleep?

The next day we met up with my Uncle, Aunt and cousin to check out the famous Ben's Chili Bowl. Here are the ladies chilling outside while we wait for the fam.

Unfortunately, with a cranky kid and in-climate weather, we never got a chance to make it out to see any of the monuments up close. So we drove around in the evenings to see the sights. This is the only picture that I got of the Capitol building.

On our last night in the city, Little Miss's fever finally broke and she was in a good mood. She decided to smile for a quick photo while drinking her O.J. As usual, wherever she is, her binky isn't too far behind. I can't wait to get rid of that thing.

We headed home after the conference on the next day, dreading what was at home waiting for us........Getting her back on her normal sleep schedule, in her own bed. We ended up having to immediately go out last weekend to get her a toddler bed because she was so mad that she started climbing out of her crib....but that's a story for another post.

Misses Jones will only have these pictures to recall her first trip on a plane. She did really well. She never had any visible signs that she suffered from her ears popping or that she was uncomfortable. After Tess downloaded some of her favorite shows and some games to the Itouch, she was smooth sailing.

I hope to get some posts out real soon. We have about 15 or so new posts that we need to publish. Tons of exciting news to share.
