It's been a long while since I wrote a blog letter to Misses Jones. Here goes:
Dear Golden Child (as your mother describes you), it's hard to believe that you are two years old. Who would have known that your last birthday would be your last as an only child. We are so excited to see what type of big sister you will be. Your vocabulary seemingly grows by the minute. We love how you cannot pronounce the letter "L", but you do a pretty spectacular job of repeating almost anything clearly up to about 4 syllables. You surprise us with the things that you do that we weren't even aware that you could. Like when you counted up to 14 yesterday while playing in the bathtub. You're so smart.
You have become so brave. You are no longer afraid of Dora, as long as her on/off switch is turned off. You now ask us for hugs and kisses and it makes us feel like the best parents in the whole wide world. We love how you make up your own songs and games or how you surprise us with spontaneous phrases. You are so funny sometimes. We trip out over your crazy dance moves. We marvel at how your imagination is just beginning to soar. You've taken Dora under your wings and show here everyday how little girls have fun.
You are such a big girl. You're sleeping in your own toddler bed and getting up less and less as time goes own. You could do a little better job of brushing your teeth. Going to the potty is still a challenge for you because it seems that there are more important things to do, but we'll get there. You are finally getting used to only having your binky before you go to bed. Thanks for willing giving it up every morning before you begin your day. We are sooo proud of you.
Finally my love, keep on loving Jesus. We are amazed by how much you love going to church to learn about and sing songs to "Geshush".
We look forward to learning more about your personality and sharing special times with you. We find that we are having to discipline you more because there's so much to see and do. We do what we do to help you learn self-control , appropriateness and restraint because we love you.
Keep having fun little girl and don't forget to eat your vegetables...ahem... mashed potatoes.
Love,
Your Daddy
