We finally got around to mailing out Mr. Jones Jr.'s baby invitations. So, if we mailed you one, you should have received it by now. Originally, my intent was to have them mailed only after a couple of days that he was born. I already had the template in place and all I had to do was snap the photos, edit and crop them and place them in the file, take them to Wolf Camera and have them printed.
Well, for some reason, that didn't happen. We just had way too much going on all at the same time. We had planned on mailing them last Friday, but the powers that be just wouldn't allow that to happen. Misses Jones' school held a Parent's Night Out and we took them up on the offer to have a couple of hours of adult time which we usually only get to have when we ask the grandparents to babysit. Mrs. Jones had packed a bag with all of the stuff that the kiddos would need while we were away. This bag contained an assortment of items that included bottles with water in them as well as the bundle of baby announcements that were to be mailed.
Lo and behold, Mrs. Jones forgot to place the little discs in the bottles that keep them from leaking. As a result pretty much everything in the bag got wet, including the envelopes. So, their mailing had to wait. Luckily, she was able to salvage all of the stamps and I don't think that the announcements themselves got damaged. If you have water spots on yours, we're really sorry. Monday, we finally got them mailed. Whew!!!
On another note, the announcements themselves. When Misses Jones was born, we got suckered into buying the pictures that they offer at the hospital. It was kinda expensive for what we got. So this time around, I thought that I could do just as good of a job, if not better. And you know how much I spent doing it...About 6 bucks to print them. It just goes to show, if you have the talent and the skill to do something that saves you money, just go ahead and do it yourself.
I hope everybody likes the announcement. I really did put quite a bit of time into it. The only thing I regret is not getting them printed on 5x7 paper. 4x6 was smaller than I thought. Oh Well!
