Milestones

Remember when your children were just babies and you anticipated each milestone.  You couldn't wait for them to get their first tooth or for them to say their first word.  Well, when it comes down to Misses Jones, we're past all that.

Last Sunday, we conquered the very last of all of the little people milestones.  Finally, we are truly done with the pacifier. It took a little more than 3 years no-less.  So here, I'm outlining all the milestones to date.
  • Umbilical cord fell off
  • First Smile
  • Sat up unassisted
  • Slept in her own room
  • Slept through the night
  • Went from formula to baby food
  • Cut first tooth
  • Went from baby food to regular food
  • Lifted Head on her own
  • Held her own bottle (NOPE...Never did that)
  • Crawled for the first time
  • Took first steps
  • Said first words
  • Drank from a straw
  • Drank from a cup
  • Transitioned to a toddler bed
  • Started kissing us
  • Gave up the pacifier for good
The rest of her future will be filled with firsts.  None maybe as precious as the past.  Now we move into what other parents have warned us about.  It's been told that as they get older, we'd long for the days of infancy and toddlerhood.  Oh Brother!  We've been getting a few more tantrums as of late.  I'll talk about that at a later post and how we have resolved to handle them.

Each first for her is our first as parents.  God give us the strength and the wisdom to do what is right, even if it is not what we want to do.  Forgive us for the mistakes that I'm sure we'll make.
