Javalutions Continued....

Every year for the past 10 years, I have written down a list of 10 things that I wanted to get accomplished in the new year. Well, this is I resolve to have a list of only 5 things. Honestly, 10 is just too many. So... here goes:
  1. Become Java Certified (SCJP)
  2. Lose 6 Pounds by the 2nd week in February
  3. Participate in at least 3 5K's this year
  4. Find a job
  5. Become more loving and understanding

Of course, these things are not necessarily listed in order of importance. So now I have to ask myself questions as to why each of these things are so important.

1. Why Become Java Certified?

The possibilities are endless. This is a field where I can continue learning and enhancing my skills. The market is always ripe as long as everyone is using a computer and needs the expertise of those with programming skills. I can make a pretty nice salary and can look towards the future with a new view.

2. Why Lose 6 pounds?

Because I need to. Truthfully, I would like to get down to about 155 pounds, but that would be my limit....I think! I need to get the extra weight off before I get to old. I need to be as healthy as I possibly can and I would also like to fit into to my old clothes that I haven't been able to fit into for a couple of years.

3. Why run 3 5K races?

It's been a while where I've been in an atmosphere of physical competition. I'd really like that. It would also challenge me to stay in good physical shape and keep the weight off if I stay active. I just think it would be fun. Maybe I can find someone who will do it with me on occasion.

4. Why find a Job?

Duh!! No explanation needed. Let me send a shout out to Father God right now! Daddy, I need a job right now to be able to take care of our family as well as to move the kingdom forward. I have no idea why I would ever doubt that you would take care of me or show up on time. Those who are righteous are never forsaken and have never had to beg to get you to move on their behalf. I hope that you find me righteous in your sight. Help me to ever so clearly see you ways and learn from this teaching. Show me your face and guide my steps. Kick my tail when I'm not hidden within your shadow. You know what I need and how I need it. I can sometimes consume myself with the details of how you are orchestrating my blessing. Maybe I'm a little too nosey sometimes, but Father I love the testimony that it gives me to be able to see how you filter your love and gifts to me. Unfortunately, I have no idea the price that some people pay in order for you to take care of me. There may be times that you move others out of the way to make room for me. Thank you anyway.

5. Why become more loving and understanding?

Because so many people feel unloved and misunderstood. Broaden my heart for those who are not like me. I feel like I complain way too much at times because I get so impatient. If some people could see how I really am when they get on my nerves, they wouldn't feel so great about me. Therefore, I commit an 'On Purpose" action to be more patient and loving and understanding. I really don't want to ask you to help me because I feel like you already have. Your Spirit lives within me and that is enough. I just need to yield to your will. I'm afraid to ask you to help me because that may be a little more than I can handle.

Father, go before us this year and be our guide. Thanks for being my best friend Jesus!

Amen.
