Moving and Decluttering

Since were are moving soon, we figured that it would be a great time to get rid of some stuff that we just don't want to take with us.  Makes no sense to clutter up our new place with stuff that's old and we'll never use again.  Old or ill-fitting clothes, toys, items in storage and those dreaded items under our bathroom sinks have to go.

We were watching something on television the other day where people were talking about how once they moved into their new home, people all of a sudden wanted to "gift" them all of their old stuff that they no longer wanted in their own house.  This happens around Christmas as well when people re-gift things that they don't find functional or doesn't fit their personal taste.

We hope to avoid some of this if we can with our new home.  So our message to our friends, family and well wishers would be this:  If you want to buy us something for our new home and are unsure of what to get us, please feel free to ask.  If you want to give us something that you already have, please ask us if we would like it.  If we say yes! GREAT!  On the other hand, if we say no thanks, it's nothing personal.  We want to make sure that we enjoy the gift just as much as you enjoy giving it to us.

GREAT post! I am all about decluttering. It's hard when you receive hand me downs, b/c you feel as if you must keep everything. My mom and grandma finally know to ask first. I get a little anxious when people bring stuff into my home! :)

ps. You are SO kind and your comments are so appreciated. Glad to know I'm not alone on the donut thing with Boyd. haha. AND, now I'm embarassed that I revised that one post. I guess I felt like I got too personal and one or two people might have felt like it was directed at them. I won't revise a post like that again, I will let my heart speak from now on. It helps to get it out there and get feedback.

Hope you are all doing great! Hi to Tess too! :))
