Yep, that's me being a big dork!
And her we are immediately after his birth. We were tripping out because he looked like the second coming of Misses Jones. He looked identical to her when she was initially delivered. Truth be told, I've actually called him a she a couple of times because he looks so much like her. It looks like he just might be a little bit darker than our daughter once his skin tones evens out. These kids really are reaching back to their grandparents because neither Mrs. Jones nor myself are this "light skinded" :o)
Translation: He weighed in at 6 lbs, 2.5oz. A mere 4.5 ounces bigger than his sister. Funny thing is, we don't remember his sister being this tiny.
Our nursery nurse, Bonequisha (lol, not her real name) gave him his very first bath. Bonequisha is a couple of weeks away from having her second child.
Finally, the 2nd big event of the day. Misses Jones got to meet her little brother for the very first time. Exciting stuff, right? I went and picked her up from school and changed her shirt (Mommy's instructions). I coached her and primed her the whole car ride to the hospital, reminding her of who and where he was. Last she knew, he was in mommy's tummy.
When she walked into the hospital room and noticed that mommy was holding a baby, she just grinned. Then, her apprehensiveness (is that a word?) turned into excitement. We're sure that in the coming weeks, she will adopt him as her own son. And so goes our life, like many of our friends. Right in the thick of potty training, toddler beds, temper tantrums, newborns and sleepless nights. What a life! All that we know is that we are trying to do he very best that we can to love, guide and protect them.
I can't wait to share new stories about how our life has and will be impacted by the addition of another little one into our life.
Thanks to everyone for your kind words and prayers. It hasn't been easy hanging out in a hospital room and concerned over the health of your loved ones. God still is, G-Double O D, Good!
