House Construction Part 9

We have bad news!!!  Well, sort of. We went out to see the house to see how much progress had been made since we haven't had a chance to head out there because we were in the hospital getting ready for Mr. Jones Jr. to enter the world.  

When we pulled up, we noticed a whole team of guys puling the roof off the house.  Then I started to wonder if they had ever put the roofing on in the first place.  Of course they did.  Well, if you've been watching the weather over the last few weeks, you'd know that we've been getting some crazy weather.  Actually, we saw on the news that the area where the house is being built had houses where winds were broken due to hail.  So as a courtesy to us, they decided to replace our roofing.  They never indicated if there was any actual damage, but hey, we'll take it.

Then, to add insult to injury, we found out that someone kicked our back door in.  Apparently, construction pirates do exist and will go to great lengths to steal stuff and materials from a new home that is being constructed.

I'm always concerned about thieves.  Most of the time I just assume that they are on drugs because a person not under the influence of a substance, whether it's controlled or not won't break into a place that doesn't belong to them or steal from a family member. Fortunately for our builder, there wasn't anything in the home worth stealing.  At least not yet.  Usually they add all of the appliances last right before we move in.  Makes a bunch of sense.

Hopefully we'll be moving in in a couple of weeks.
