To Bathe or Not To Bathe?

I've read other peoples blogs where they've mentioned how cumbersome it is to be able to fit a bath for themselves into their newborn's daily schedule. And you know what? I understand completely how they must feel.

Before I was layed off, I really had no choice but to make sure i took daily showers before heading to work. But since I've been home everyday, I can't tell you just how hard it is to fit a shower in. During the day, Tess and I are either taking care of her or trying to get things done around the apartment. And when we aren't doing anything, we're trying to do something to entertain ourselves to at least get a mental break from baby-mania. And at the end of the day when she decides to sleep for big chunks of time, it's always a coin toss. Get as much sleep as you can now or go ahead and jump in the shower. Far too often, we opt for the sleep. Next thing you know, the sun has come up a couple of times since the last time soap hit your skin. You would think that it would be so easy as to tell your spouse to watch the baby while I take a shower; which is ultimately how the issue is resolved, but for some reason your mind is too occupied with other things to initiate. Then it hits me, how is it that Miss Madison get's bathed more often than we do?

Anyway, I really hope that others know exactly how we feel. If not, then I guess we are just two dirty people, too lazy to bathe. So here's to dirty people whose newborns have taken over their life!

I am going to have to say too lazy to take a bath. Please make sure you take one before I see you next.
Thanks
